Good morning, Father!
Thank you so much for keeping my little dog safe and making him comfortable and happy in his last months/years. Please do not let him suffer, but just let him pass on peacefully one day. Until then, thank you for his awesome cheerful and adorable companionship! Thank you for his crazy antics, and for his role in keeping members of the family more calm and responsive and humble.
Thank you for making my computer keep working, and thank you for my Kindle as well! Please help me prepare for the changing season of lifestyle, guiding me to the laptop and other devices and software I will need to continue building my business from an RV and from within public libraries. Thank you, Lord, for HOPE!
Please continue to show me, guide me, grow me. Let me be a source of comfort and reassurance for anyone reading this or my other writings. Thank you for humbling me and exposing me, so that I can perhaps help others feel a bit more comfortable exposing themselves to you and to your awesome heart! Please help me to show that big wonderful heart of yours to anyone who will listen, in whatever way you give me to show it. I can never know it all, but please help me to share the parts I do know. Thank you, Lord, for always being with me, ever since I was a tiny girl.

Matthew 5:13-16

“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its taste, it cannot be made salty again. Salt is useless if it loses its salty taste. It will be thrown out where people will just walk on it. You are the light that shines for the world to see. You are like a city built on a hill that cannot be hidden. People don’t hide a lamp under a bowl. They put it on a lampstand. Then the light shines for everyone in the house. In the same way, you should be a light for other people. Live so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.”

Have you ever seen a salt pan, those huge “rivers” or “lakes” of what looks like hard white sand, but is actually salt? They look lifeless and in fact they are nearly so. But they hold a couple secrets. One secret, a gift to man from the Creator, is the value of salt which is only apparent with use. Not only does it enhance the flavor of food, but it also serves as a preservative! The second secret, a gift to specific species from the Creator, is the salinity (saltiness) provides just the right environment that certain creatures need to live and reproduce. Perhaps the most notable is the flamingo — that graceful pink and black bird with the long slender neck and matching pencil-like legs who inhabits the super-shallow, super-saline waters of the salt pan and soda lakes.

Thank you, Lord, for hiding treasures within your creation. You have provided for us ALL, creating such obvious beauty as huge flowers and sparkling hummingbird feathers, and hiding beauty amongst ugliness such as the usefulness of salt and the enduring faith of a broken child. Thank you, Lord, for hiding beauty within ME! For I was born to die, to be used, born to abuse and shame. Yet you caused me to survive even severe head trauma and devastating despair — and you have set me on a hill like the city in the verses above, not because I have my OWN shiny light, but because you have set YOURS within me. Father, please continue to cleanse me so that my own human fleshiness does not hide the light. Help me to live in such a way that those who come near me can see You and give you praise! Thank you, Lord! 😀
