Good morning, Lord!
Thank you so much for the fun and peaceful time together with my husband last night. Thank you for giving me a little bit more structure for my day, too! I am excited about growing and learning and doing new things with you, Lord! Please help me to be faithful and keep looking to you, and obeying no matter what you give me to do. Please help me to become less stubborn and independent when it comes to your leading, Holy Spirit. Help me to become more and more dependent upon you, so that I can be more stable and secure. Thank you for choosing me!

Zephaniah 3:9 ERV

Then I will change people from other nations so that they can speak the language clearly and call out the name of the LORD. They will all worship me together, shoulder to shoulder, as one people.

Zephaniah 3:9 ISV

Indeed, then I will return my people to a pure language so that they all may call upon the name of the LORD, serving him with a united will.”

Zephaniah 3:9 KJV

For then will I turn to the people a pure language, that they may all call upon the name of the LORD, to serve him with one consent.

This verse seems to be the opposite of the tower of Babel — God restoring people to a single language. Since I really do enjoy language (aside from getting burned-out on Spanish), this is also one of my all-time favorite verses in the Bible.

Some interesting tidbits, although I am not as comfortable with Hebrew as I am with Greek:
turn = specifically return
people = specifically a particular tribe or “flock”
pure = clarified, brightened, polished 😀
language = a vague term that could mean language but also border, margin, brink… with the idea of a termination.
Not sure what to make of this last one, but it is the only word for “language” I can find in the online Hebrew dictionaries as well. Hmmm.

Either way, there is a clear indication of God returning to people what was lost — clarifying and brightening our means of communication, with the idea that we once had such a treasure, and for the purpose of being able to talk to and serve the Almighty God. I am sorry if this offends anyone, but THAT seems much more appealing to me, as something to look forward to in eternity, than some big “mansion” or gold streets or anything else that can be made by mankind. Heehee! Oooooooooh!!! I cannot wait to obtain this awesome PURE way to communicate with God and serve Him better!!! 😀
