Good morning, Lord!
Thank you so much for the encouraging, peaceful start to this day! Thank you for helping me grow and learn, and thank you for the nice fellowship time with my husband. Thank you also so very, very much for blessing my oldest son with a new place to live and work, and new people in his life…! We have all been praying so fervently for him (at least I have!) and it is truly encouraging to see you perform such awesome miracles in his life — and so quickly!! I feel so blessed, Lord. And humbled. And excited! I give this day to you, my Lord. Guide me and show me what you would like for me to accomplish for YOU today — even if it is nothing I would guess or expect. Thank you for choosing me, Father. 😀
Romans 12:9-18 ERV
Your love must be real. Hate what is evil. Do only what is good.
Love each other in a way that makes you feel close like brothers and sisters. And give each other more honor than you give yourself.
As you serve the Lord, work hard and don’t be lazy. Be excited about serving him!
Be happy because of the hope you have. Be patient when you have troubles. Pray all the time.
Share with God’s people who need help. Look for people who need help and welcome them into your homes.
Wish only good for those who treat you badly. Ask God to bless them, not curse them.
When others are happy, you should be happy with them. And when others are sad, you should be sad too.
Live together in peace with each other. Don’t be proud, but be willing to be friends with people who are not important to others. Don’t think of yourself as smarter than everyone else.
If someone does you wrong, don’t try to pay them back by hurting them. Try to do what everyone thinks is right.
Do the best you can to live in peace with everyone.
I am pretty sure I’ve used at least some of these verses here before, but there is just so much goodness here, it’s almost like Proverbs…! I’ve highlighted the most relevant parts to my life at this moment, but I remember when other parts of it applied more (like being patient in troubles). I am excited about serving God, and I am rejoicing with my son, who is happy…! Yay! Also, I have lately been learning quite a bit about living in peace with others — and actually, about giving honor to others, not talking back — even to my daughter — just letting people have their own perspectives and more often witholding my own, when it contradicts theirs. If it is important that they see something a different way, it is actually not MY words they need, but God’s. It is HIS Words that are alive and create change. I merely pray that He sometimes use me as a vessel to shine forth His light onto others’ paths, especially my immediate family. But for the most part, just being silent and giving the Holy Spirit space to work — that is what I am currently striving to learn how to do. 😛
