Good morning, Lord!
Thank you for an awesome productive day yesterday, pretty much back to my old self. Thank you for being near me during the night, and thank you for my husband’s kindness, comforting me through some rough dreams and memories. Thank you for being with me this morning, helping me to just keep on growing, past the speed bumps. Father, make me more faithful and productive and more pleasing to you. Help me to stay teachable and willing. Thank you, Lord!
Ephesians 5:27-33 ERV
Christ died so that he could give the church to himself like a bride in all her beauty. He died so that the church could be holy and without fault, with no evil or sin or any other thing wrong in it.
And husbands should love their wives like that. They should love their wives as they love their own bodies. The man who loves his wife loves himself,
because no one ever hates his own body, but feeds and takes care of it. And that is what Christ does for the church
because we are parts of his body.
The Scriptures say, “That is why a man will leave his father and mother and join his wife, and the two people will become one.”
That secret truth is very important–I am talking about Christ and the church.
But each one of you must love his wife as he loves himself. And a wife must respect her husband.
Father, I thank you for the peace that is now present between my husband and myself. I thank you for making him in such a way that I can respect him. Thank you for showing him some strengths I have, so he can continue to have respect for me as well. Please grow those strengths in me, Lord, and make new ones…! 😀
Lord, I lift my oldest son up to you this morning. You made us both legitimate introverts, and you know how sincerely we NEED quiet time, alone, for processing — for sanity! Father, please help him through this last month of sharing his apartment with his best friend who is now crowding the house and filling the air waves with his girlfriend and her small child. Please show my son some new ways to get the quiet time he needs. Encourage him to take walks, and show him some quiet places to sit, perhaps to write (He’s my favorite author!). Please give him some soothing music to play on headphones. And above all, please give him YOUR peace, which passes all understanding. Father, I ask that you prepare a new place for him to live, and I ask you to prepare him to join a wife, someone special and hand-picked by you, Lord. Please give him a chance to be the big-hearted shepherd that you designed him to be! Amen! :O>
