Good morning, Lord!
Thank you for helping me get in an early morning walk to the post office, and please help me in my second walk of the day, to the bank and Walmart for groceries. Please help my head to not get so dizzy that I trip or have too much trouble getting back home. Please strengthen my neck and other muscles, and help me to learn how to better care for my body. Father, I thank you for the encouraging things I have been learning, and I lift up my marriage to you and ask you to heal the hurts that seem to reside predominantly in my own wounded heart. Help me to be less affected by people’s words and more stable, standing upon YOUR Word! Thank you, Father!
John 6:63 ERV, ISV, KJV
It is the Spirit that gives life. The body is of no value for that. But the things I have told you are from the Spirit, so they give life.
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh accomplishes nothing. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life.
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
In the original Greek of this verse:
Spirit/spirit = pneuma
flesh/body = physical body and/or “human nature”
words = surprisingly NOT logos, but rhema = utterance or saying
So, our human nature really benefits no one (rendering from Greek), but the sayings of Jesus and the Spirit within them give us life (literal and/or figurative) and revitalizes us.
Father I thank you for sending your only son Jesus to us, giving us your Word, then gifting us with your Spirit as well! Truly we are fully equipped to stand strong and be faithful to you until the end! Please let your Word and your Spirit breathe more and more life into me, replacing my human nature with your awesomeness! 😀
