I shall yet learn, and grow beyond the immaturity of adulthood. I shall again laugh, and learn the wisdom of a child.

Thirty years ago today, I was having pretty regular contractions, and my mother decided I was in labor and she was going to take me to the hospital to have my first child. I was unconvinced, didn’t believe I was actually in labor, since my contractions would be 3 minutes apart, then 7 minutes apart, then 5 minutes apart, then 4 minutes apart. Since they didn’t come at regular intervals, I thought it was just more of the same “Braxton-Hicks” contractions I’d been having for weeks. Still, my mother was on her way, coming from Richmond, Michigan to where I lived in Troy, Michigan (ironic, I know!). So I went in the bathroom and sat on the toilet, propping my foot up on the side of the tub to paint my toenails — working around my humongous belly. When a contraction came, I’d just pause, then continue painting my pretty little toes. I didn’t understand at the time how much natural flexibility I had — in my hips, knees, shoulders, and everywhere else. But I am grateful that my Creator made me with such flexibility and physical strength as He did. It has come in handy a thousand and one times since that day I painted my toenails while in labor with my first child. And I am grateful that He has brought me so far along the journey of life, addicted to ZERO substances, eating healthy despite our frugal, nontraditional lifestyle. I am truly blessed indeed!! 😀

1 Timothy 4:8-13 ERV

Training your body helps you in some ways. But devotion to God helps you in every way. It brings you blessings in this life and in the future life too.
Here is a true statement that should be accepted without question:
We hope in the living God, the Savior of all people. In particular, he is the Savior of all those who believe in him. This is why we work and struggle.
Command and teach these things.
You are young, but don’t let anyone treat you as if you are not important. Be an example to show the believers how they should live. Show them by what you say, by the way you live, by your love, by your faith, and by your pure life.
Continue to read the Scriptures to the people, encourage them, and teach them. Do this until I come.

Lord, I thank you for each one of my awesome children, each one an amazing blessing that far surpasses anything I could create in this life, in my business, in my art, in my work or play. I ask you for a special blessing on my oldest son who turns 30 today. Thank you for giving him another fresh new start in a new state this past couple weeks. Please be very near to him, help him find rest and accomplishment, fellowship and acceptance. You made him an introvert like me, NEEDING time alone to process and be SANE. Please provide that for him in his new living situation. Give him a place to go to get away by himself. And Father, I ask that you MEET HIM there in his quiet place. Let him come to know you, to feel your Hand on his life. Let it give him hope, and patience while you prepare him to receive a Mate in your perfect timing. Amen.

Father I also lift my youngest son up to you, my darling child who is so very dear to my heart. I ask you to meet him right where he is as well, drawing him closer to your Heart, protecting him with your Wings. Don’t let him be a fool and EXPECT you to prove that you exist, and that you ARE who you say you are, and can DO what you say you can do. Instead, give him a little intellectual fire inside his mind, wanting to READ for himself what YOU say in YOUR Word — NOT, NOT, NOT what the fast-food churches say about you! Heal him, Lord, in your perfect way and in your perfect timing. And Father, I really would like to have a time in this lifetime when I can grow a garden with my dear son again. If it be in your will and purpose, I would truly appreciate that gift to my heart. Thank you. Amen again. Heehee. 😀
