Good morning, Father.
Well, today my mother would be 86 years old, if she hadn’t died over a decade ago. That is still 2 years younger than HER mother when she died at the age of 88… in 1986 while I was a sophomore in high school. I still remember being in math class with one of my favorite teachers ever (Mr… Clemens?) — a real cool math teacher who gave us time at the end of every class period to do our homework — AND allowed us to work in teams, if we chose. Me and a dude named DS and another named AB (WOW, I actually do remember both of their names!! — but keeping confidential) — we were the rowdiest group, all because of hyperactive ME — the two guys were an otherwise shy nerdy type, and a semi-nerdy semi-stoner dude, also otherwise not the rowdy type. I was this popular little “hot chick” who came from the big city near Dallas, Texas — up to the little country bumpkin town where I had actually been born.. and therefore some people actually knew me from the days BEFORE I had moved south and turned into a spandex-clad, high-heeled dancing headbanger/stoner with a very conspicuous southern accent — heeheehee!! I am making myself chuckle. Thank you, Lord, for the happy memories! 😀

Ecclesiastes 7:14-24 ERV

When life is good, enjoy it. But when life is hard, remember that God gives us good times and hard times. And no one knows what will happen in the future.
In my short life, I have seen everything. I have seen good people die young, and I have seen evil people live long lives.
So why ruin your life? Don’t be too good or too bad, and don’t be too wise or too foolish. Why should you die before your time?
Try to be a little of this and a little of that. Even God’s followers will do some good things and some bad things.
Surely there is no one on earth who always does good and never sins. But wisdom can make one person stronger than ten leaders in a city.
Don’t listen to everything people say. You might hear your own servant saying bad things about you.
And you know that many times you too have said bad things about other people.
I used my wisdom and thought about all these things. I wanted to be wise, but I couldn’t do it.
I cannot understand why things are as they are. It is too hard for anyone to understand.

Wow! That is Solomon — thought to be the wisest person who ever lived — saying those things!! Well, you know what they say… If you think you know… you DON’T. If you think you are wise… or mature… you’re NOT! 😉

THANK YOU, Lord, for making me simple (maybe that means I’m not? heeheehee). Thank you for giving me only TWO things I want out of this life: To be found Faithful by YOU… and for those whom I love to be FREE and have a personal relationship with YOU. Thank you, thank you, thank you also for my new book which arrived yesterday… my favorite book in all the world (2nd edition) — FAVORITE because it goes well beyond simple identification and info on individual species, on to discuss in detail the RELATIONSHIPS between your creations (albeit on the other side of the world in Borneo — an island in southeast Asia). It is my model for what I desire to do myself if you allow me, Father — and I am overjoyed to once again have a copy of this book with me, here in my little camper!!

THANK YOU also, Lord, for showing me a way I can help people who want to make a little money with their poems or prose, or even their own visuals and such. And thank you for showing me, as I was waking up this morning, a possible design for how my husband and I can support ourselves comfortably in the coming months and years — how everything kinda fits together into a “big picture”. I feel calm again, yet quietly bubbling over inside with delight and excitement, anticipation… and HOPE. Please help me to use what I have to help others, Father. And help me do it WISELY!! Amen. 🙂
