Good morning, Lord!
Today is my Mate’s birthday, and I cannot even spend it with him — he is still three states away! But ya know, it’s OKAY. He is alive and well and pretty content with life and with himself, so I have no complaints. He will either spend the day relaxing or perhaps finally driving to his mother’s, and I will spend the day working outdoors and in, online and off, building the H.E.R. site and hopefully making some progress on the yard and craft room here. I am certain to spend a good amount of time on the phone with my awesome Mate, and when he finally makes it up north to me, we will celebrate his birthday in a variety of ways. He is not worried about missing “the big day” so neither am I. Thank you, Lord, for flexibility and PEACE. Amen.

Luke 15:21-32 ERV

The son said, ‘Father, I have sinned against God and have done wrong to you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
“But the father said to his servants, ‘Hurry! Bring the best clothes and put them on him. Also, put a ring on his finger and good sandals on his feet.
And bring our best calf and kill it so that we can celebrate with plenty to eat.
My son was dead, but now he is alive again! He was lost, but now he is found!’ So they began to have a party.
“The older son had been out in the field. When he came near the house, he heard the sound of music and dancing.
So he called to one of the servant boys and asked, ‘What does all this mean?’
The boy said, ‘Your brother has come back, and your father killed the best calf to eat. He is happy because he has his son back safe and sound.’
“The older son was angry and would not go in to the party. So his father went out and begged him to come in.
But he said to his father, ‘Look, for all these years I have worked like a slave for you. I have always done what you told me to do, and you never gave me even a young goat for a party with my friends.
But then this son of yours comes home after wasting your money on prostitutes, and you kill the best calf for him!’
“His father said to him, ‘Oh, my son, you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.
But this was a day to be happy and celebrate. Your brother was dead, but now he is alive. He was lost, but now he is found.'”

Lord, I thank you so much for giving me the gift of an awesome husband and Mate who is much more like the humble prodigal son above than like the haughty, self-important older son. No matter what he does, wrong or right, good or bad, my husband is keenly aware of how he falls short of your glory and is fully dependent upon your amazing mercy. I learn so very much from him all the time, and I look forward to spending the rest of my life with him. THANK YOU for giving me a soul mate, Lord God! 😀

Father, I also thank you for giving me a DAY OFF of all my work yesterday!! It was unexpected, and I do feel a bit behind today, but I feel restored, energized, and with a much more clear understanding of what I need to do, in what basic timing and order and structure. My body feels GREAT because I have been taking such good care of it, and it has finally stopped raining and dried up enough outside that I can perhaps get some yardwork done today. I am much looking forward to both the outdoor exercise, as well as the indoor creating with the Creator — with a pretty clear vision for what I need to do in the coming week. WOOT! 😀
