Good morning, Lord!
Thank you for helping me get a good early start to my day again, a few days in a row — but this time even better! Perhaps I will actually get some time to work on my favorite little pet project today, although I AM far behind schedule on more serious work due to not having good internet when it was time for it. I give all that over into your hands, Lord — even the parts that are dear to my heart. Please be with my children today, this day that I always remember as my parents’ wedding anniversary — even though they have been dead and gone about a decade now. My heart aches for each of my children right now, with each one struggling in some way, their own personal ways. Please comfort them, encourage them, keep them safe. Help me to just trust you to take care of them, for I cannot. Amen.

Luke 12:24-31 ERV

Look at the birds. They don’t plant, harvest, or save food in houses or barns, but God feeds them. And you are worth much more than crows.
None of you can add any time to your life by worrying about it.
And if you can’t do the little things, why worry about the big things?

“Think about how the wildflowers grow. They don’t work or make clothes for themselves. But I tell you that even Solomon, the great and rich king, was not dressed as beautifully as one of these flowers.
If God makes what grows in the field so beautiful, what do you think he will do for you? That’s just grass—one day it’s alive, and the next day someone throws it into a fire. But God cares enough to make it beautiful. Surely he will do much more for you. Your faith is so small!
“So don’t always think about what you will eat or what you will drink. Don’t worry about it.
That’s what all those people who don’t know God are always thinking about. But your Father knows that you need these things.
What you should be thinking about is God’s kingdom. Then he will give you all these other things you need.

My mother was a notorious worrier, even though she did try to “think on” on positive things as per Philippians 4:8. I like to think that I have done pretty well with the genes I inherited, as I seem to worry quite a bit less than I used to. Still, my children do not want me to worry about them, so I pray that you continue your work in me, Lord, and help me to remember not only that you care for me like the little birds and flowers, but also that you love my own children more than I do myself! I thank you for all the amazing growth you have created in me so far, and I thank you that I do not worry much about my own future, but am usually able to just “go down the road” and see what happens next, trusting that you always provide just what I need, when I need it. You’ve never let me down, Lord. Increase my faith, so I can be found pleasing and faithful to you. Amen. 🙂
