Good morning, Lord!
Thank you for the good start to this day, and for a good night of restorative sleep. Thank you for the warm weather, with just the right amount of humidity and sunlight. Thank you for helping me to finish a couple projects yesterday, and to get a good start to the next ones. Thank you for focus and guidance and growth!

1 John 2:15-17 ERV

Don’t love this evil world or the things in it. If you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you.
This is all there is in the world: wanting to please our sinful selves, wanting the sinful things we see, and being too proud of what we have. But none of these comes from the Father. They come from the world.
The world is passing away, and all the things that people want in the world are passing away. But whoever does what God wants will live forever.

Lord, I thank you that I am not addicted to any substances that would cause me to be dependent upon this world, a slave to it. I have watched a few people disintegrate right before my eyes, and it hurts my heart. I have seen it recently in people who are just acquaintances, living nearby. I feel very grateful, because I know that I am not any better than all those people who are trapped in that discouraging lifestyle, working to pay for their substance of choice. I thank you for freeing my Mate and myself from those traps, and for keeping my children free of them as well. Please comfort all your children who are trapped by a manmade substance, reaching for you but unable to let go of what their body tells them they NEED. Please set their bodies free, so that their hearts can focus on you. Encourage them, Lord. I know you love them just as much as you love me. I wish I could hug each one of them who faces that struggle today. I bet you wish you could, too.
