Hello, Father!
Thank you for six years now of being married to my favorite of all your creations. Thank you for the awesome night of closeness and growth and new understandings we shared when there was time, a few nights ago. Please help us both in our separate work today, from library time to mucking out stalls for me, and from finding new tires for our truck to painting a wall for him. Lord, I put our volatile relationship into your capable hands, and I ask you to protect it and intervene on our behalf, keep us close, keep us together. I do not want my Mate to wander this dark world alone, and I do not want to be alone in it, either. Although we both could quite easily exist just fine without each other, it really seems you have put us together for a purpose, and are using us as a TEAM to reach other people, sharing your Love and being a witness everywhere we go, with everyone we meet. I know we are not perfect, but we strive to be humble, and teachable, and willing to serve you at all times. Help us to grow in you, together. Amen.

Ephesians 5:22-33 ERV

Wives, be willing to serve your husbands the same as the Lord.
A husband is the head of his wife, just as Christ is the head of the church. Christ is the Savior of the church, which is his body.
The church serves under Christ, so it is the same with you wives. You should be willing to serve your husbands in everything.
Husbands, love your wives the same as Christ loved the church and gave his life for it.
He died to make the church holy. He used the telling of the Good News to make the church clean by washing it with water.
Christ died so that he could give the church to himself like a bride in all her beauty. He died so that the church could be holy and without fault, with no evil or sin or any other thing wrong in it.
And husbands should love their wives like that. They should love their wives as they love their own bodies. The man who loves his wife loves himself,
because no one ever hates his own body, but feeds and takes care of it. And that is what Christ does for the church
because we are parts of his body.

The Scriptures say, “That is why a man will leave his father and mother and join his wife, and the two people will become one.”
That secret truth is very important—I am talking about Christ and the church.
But each one of you must love his wife as he loves himself. And a wife must respect her husband.

Father, please bless my awesome son whose birthday is today, and likewise bless my Mate’s awesome son who was also born on this day. Thank you for your wonderful sense of humor, Lord, giving us each a son born exactly one year apart, later to also be the day we got married. I do hope to one day have a celebratory “winter bash” that sees all 4 of us in one place, joyously celebrating two birthdays and one anniversary, lol. Thank you, Shepherd, for leading us this far, and thank you for guiding each one of us forward in your will each day, protecting us and providing for our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual needs. Amen. Lead on, faithful Shepherd! 😀
