Good morning, Father.
I am awake, but I barely feel alert. I am not coughing, but I do not feel all better. I have no immediate problems, but I do not feel entirely peaceful. This is another of those strange fuzzy states of mind, that I suppose must come at the end of a bout with the flu… or something. I just feel a bit “off”. Still, I am grateful that I could do some light stretchy exercises this morning without launching into a fit of coughing. And I am grateful that I have so many things I COULD do today, without HAVING to do anything. Along those lines, Lord, I ask you to guide me in what I can do for YOU today, how I can help people or otherwise make some sort of progress for you — even if progress is more resting time, lol. I give this day to you, and I thank you for another opportunity to get to know you better, faithful Shepherd. 🙂

Philippians 2:1-11 ERV

Think about what we have in Christ: the encouragement he has brought us, the comfort of his love, our sharing in his Spirit, and the mercy and kindness he has shown us. If you enjoy these blessings,
then do what will make my joy complete: Agree with each other, and show your love for each other. Be united in your goals and in the way you think.
In whatever you do, don’t let selfishness or pride be your guide. Be humble, and honor others more than yourselves.
Don’t be interested only in your own life, but care about the lives of others too.
In your life together, think the way Christ Jesus thought.
He was like God in every way, but he did not think that his being equal with God was something to use for his own benefit.
Instead, he gave up everything, even his place with God. He accepted the role of a servant, appearing in human form. During his life as a man,
he humbled himself by being fully obedient to God, even when that caused his death—death on a cross.
So God raised him up to the most important place and gave him the name that is greater than any other name.
God did this so that every person will bow down to honor the name of Jesus. Everyone in heaven, on earth, and under the earth will bow.
They will all confess, “Jesus Christ is Lord,” and this will bring glory to God the Father.

Jesus, I am so happy that I get to know you as Lord here in this life, so that I do not have to suffer the shame and regret of realizing that you ARE Lord whether we see you that way here or not, realizing that I wasted all this time NOT serving you! It gives me so much delight to know you, to be in service to you, to interact constantly with your Spirit, even to chatter incessantly to the Father in my little childlike simpleton voice that seems to occupy most of my mind at times. Lord, help me to remain in that simple childlike mode, looking to you and trusting you, and not get all adult and sophisticated and think I know what needs to be done, in what timing, and all that hokey. Help me to just be content in whatever situation I find myself, always looking for ways to serve you, to help others, and to be grateful and spread your Love. Please make it apparent to me when I really need to change directions, to turn left or right in order to stay on your path. Give me a chance to obey, to hear your Voice leading me. And please help me to have the humility and the courage to obey. Amen.
