Good morning, Father.
Thank you for allowing me to wake up and NOT be coughing immediately, unconrollably — first time in a week!! Even though I still have a tickle in my throat, I am very grateful for this progress, and I thank you for healing and restoration, Lord. And thank you for the calm stability and hope I feel, despite the freezing rain outside the window and the fact that I do NOT have the money to purchase a warm place to work and sleep this winter. Instead, I am continuing to remind myself that YOU are the author of this story, and I am only the main character in my particular version of this story you are writing. My role is to constantly look to you, be willing to accept your will for me, to do whatever you ask of me — not to pull things out of thin air, come up with solutions to problems that may or may not be relevant at the given time. I thank you that I am not alone. I have a wonderful, capable, strong Mate and awesome children and a few good friends. I have a big sister who has taken me into her home and has said I am always welcome here. And she has the same awesome Shepherd as me, the One who gives us hope and sets us free. Lord, you are the mover of men’s (and women’s) hearts. I ask that you move each of our hearts in the direction of our own freedom, in ways that allow us to produce good fruit for you, which brings us joy. Amen and thank you, Lord.

Psalm 1 ERV

Great blessings belong to those who don’t listen to evil advice, who don’t live like sinners, and who don’t join those who make fun of God.
Instead, they love the LORD’S teachings and think about them day and night.
So they grow strong, like a tree planted by a stream — a tree that produces fruit when it should and has leaves that never fall. Everything they do is successful.
But the wicked are not like that. They are like chaff that the wind blows away.
When the time for judgment comes, the wicked will be found guilty. Sinners have no place among those who do what is right.
The LORD shows his people how to live, but the wicked have lost their way.

Lord, I thank you for showing me how to live for you, for always being on my mind and in my heart. I thank you for always giving me plenty of nourishment, like a tree planted by a river that never dries up. I thank you for the stabilizing forces of your Word and your Spirit in my life. Please help me to use wisely these awesome, amazing blessings you have given me. Strengthen me and help me to share your Love and your Light with whomever you put in my path. Show me how to help and encourage people wherever I go. Amen.
