Good morning, Father.
I am so very grateful that I do not have to face this life alone. I have an awesome, capable Mate, wonderful children, a couple good friends, and even a sister that helps me so much. And above all, I have your ever-present Holy Spirit who constantly guides me, comforts me, teaches me, encourages me, protects me. So even though my little heart trembles with dread or twinges of fear, I can still walk forward boldly, even cheerfully, knowing that I will be just fine, and I will be able to do whatever I am called upon to do. If I feel I do not have what it takes, it is only because I am looking too far into the future, to a timeframe of events I am not yet called upon to deal with, and therefore not adequately equipped for. By the time I get there, I WILL have whatever it takes. I can trust my faithful Shepherd to prepare me and equip me. Thank you, Lord Jesus! 😀

John 15:1-14 ERV

Jesus said, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.
He cuts off every branch of mine that does not produce fruit. He also trims every branch that produces fruit to prepare it to produce even more.
You have already been prepared to produce more fruit by the teaching I have given you.
Stay joined to me and I will stay joined to you. No branch can produce fruit alone. It must stay connected to the vine. It is the same with you. You cannot produce fruit alone. You must stay joined to me.
“I am the vine, and you are the branches. If you stay joined to me, and I to you, you will produce plenty of fruit. But separated from me you won’t be able to do anything.
If you don’t stay joined to me, you will be like a branch that has been thrown out and has dried up. All the dead branches like that are gathered up, thrown into the fire and burned.
Stay joined together with me, and follow my teachings. If you do this, you can ask for anything you want, and it will be given to you.
Show that you are my followers by producing much fruit. This will bring honor to my Father.
“I have loved you as the Father has loved me. Now continue in my love.
I have obeyed my Father’s commands, and he continues to love me. In the same way, if you obey my commands, I will continue to love you.
I have told you these things so that you can have the true happiness that I have. I want you to be completely happy.
This is what I command you: Love each other as I have loved you.
The greatest love people can show is to die for their friends.
You are my friends if you do what I tell you to do.

Lord, it is so awesome to be counted among your Friends, with those who are touched by the Father’s Hands as He prunes away the things of our lives and hearts that stand in the way of producing good fruit. I thank you for continuing to provide sustenance for me, providing every tiny thing I need for growth, even if they are different from what I would have chosen myself. Thank you for giving me courage and humility, so that I may have a chance to choose your way over the “safer” or more comfortable ways that I might have chosen for myself. Thank you for the steep inclines I sometimes travel, and the rocky roads, too. Thank you for giving me time yesterday, on my birthday, to relax a bit and do some fun little painting, and even give a gift to my sister and spend some time with her. Please heal up myself and my Mate, help our bodies recover from this crazy cough and fatigue, and please help me to accomplish what YOU want me to this day, in my business and in my personal life. Amen.
