Good morning, Father.
Thank you for your awesome care, guiding us forward each day. Thank you for an entire day of fellowship, analyzation, and mental processing with my Mate, with just the right amount of time spent with my sister and brother so as not to completely overwhelm them with our hyperactivity, lol. Lord, I thank you very much for making us “The ADD Couple” and able to have so much hope due to our combined reliance upon you and your Spirit to guide us, protect us, teach us, and Love us. Thank you for making us strong in body and warm in heart, and thank you for bringing us closer together with each other and with you than we have been before this. Please help us to keep looking to you, keep praying and being thankful, so that we can be ready for anything!! Please help us to stay humble and teachable and willing to follow you, and please show us each day how we can help those around us. Amen.

Colossians 2:2-3, 4:2-6 ERV

I want them to be strengthened and joined together with love and to have the full confidence that comes from understanding. I want them to know completely the secret truth that God has made known. That truth is Christ himself.
In him all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are kept safe.
Never stop praying. Be ready for anything by praying and being thankful.
Also pray for us. Pray that God will give us an opportunity to tell people his message. I am in prison for doing this. But pray that we can continue to tell people the secret truth that God has made known about Christ.
Pray that I will say what is necessary to make this truth clear to everyone.
Be wise in the way you act with those who are not believers. Use your time in the best way you can.
When you talk, you should always be kind and wise. Then you will be able to answer everyone in the way you should.

I just was looking at my favorite verse, the second one highlighted above, in the original Greek, using Strong’s Concordance as a help (all of it FREE through the e-Sword). Here is my condensed version of that, for my own future reference:
Remain immersed in worshipful prayer, being vigilant to use grateful language with God.
I really do not see how the translators of the Easy Read Version (shown above) came up with the “be ready for anything” but I like it so much, and feel so much gratitude toward God for always preparing me and giving me exactly what I need, often through the liberation that comes through simple gratitude (“being thankful”) itself, that I think I will keep this little saying in my head, unchanged. However, I really do appreciate the picture portrayed by the word gregoreuo that is translated “watch” in the King James Version, giving the idea of keeping watch like a guard. This may in fact be where the ERV translators got the “be ready” from, because a good watchman IS always prepared, always alert and ready for whatever comes. And just like the watchmen, it is not our job to do all the fighting, to by ourselves repel all the enemy forces that are seen on the horizon. It is not our place to eliminate the threat. Instead, we watch diligently with an attitude of gratitude, scanning the horizon of our lives for GOOD GIFTS that God is constantly sending our way, from the brief smiles and kind words and gestures of people around us, all the way up to the grandest blessings of happy marriage and good health. I cannot include the abundance of money or brand-new cars or fancy houses or jewelry and such things in my own list of blessings I keep watch for, as I’ve never had those and am not sure I even want them, but I can say that even if those things were to find their way into my life, I would be likely to accept them with the same level of gratitude with which I embrace the blessing of a cool breeze on my face, a warm blanket on my body, a soft look of quiet wisdom in someone’s eyes.

James 1:17-18 ERV

Everything good comes from God. Every perfect gift is from him. These good gifts come down from the Father who made all the lights in the sky. But God never changes like the shadows from those lights. He is always the same.
God decided to give us life through the true message he sent to us. He wanted us to be the most important of all that he created.
