Lord, I have so very much to be grateful for! I have joy and peace in abundance. I have so few earthly goods that I am able to appreciate the smallest things, from a single book to a little box of my favorite tea bags. I have a husband who is an absolute delight to me, and I have four children, all of whom are safe and healthy and content. I even have good relations with every single person I know, family and friends and acquaintences. And as if all that were not enough, you have even blessed me with a mind that loves to learn, and plenty of resources to do do. And on top of all that, I even have a small reliable income and means for building NEW skills and products and other resources for the future. Lord I am humbled and amazed and grateful for all these ways you have blessed me so mercifully! Please show me how to use my resources wisely, in a manner that is pleasing to you and gives you glory. Amen.

Psalms 16 ERV

Protect me, God, because I depend on you. Some of you have said to the Lord, “You are my Lord. Every good thing I have comes from you.” But you have also said about the gods of this land, “They are my powerful gods. They are the ones who make me happy.” But those who worship other gods will have many troubles. I will not share in the gifts of blood they offer to their idols. I will not even say their names. Lord, you give me all that I need. You support me. You give me my share. My share is wonderful. My inheritance is very beautiful. I praise the Lord because he taught me well. Even at night he put his instructions deep inside my mind. I always remember that the Lord is with me. He is here, close by my side, so nothing can defeat me. So my heart and soul will be very happy. Even my body will live in safety, because you will not leave me in the place of death. You will not let your faithful one rot in the grave. You will teach me the right way to live. Just being with you will bring complete happiness. Being at your right side will make me happy forever.

Lord, I ask you to lead us to the right people and places, at the right times, in order to accomplish your will for us. Show us how we are to live, what type of camper to build or how to get money or other means of obtaining a shelter to sleep in once we leave my sister’s here in Iowa. I admit that sometimes my heart becomes afraid, Lord. I start to wonder how we will survive, how we will ever become more self-sufficient. But Father, your care and guidance has never failed. I have been amazed, over and over and over again, at how you miraculously come through for us, usually in ways we never expected, often in ways that are far better than we ever expected. Lord, I am delighted to be your child, and to have the honor of knowing and serving you. I look forward to seeing what you will do in my life this day. Thank you for choosing me. I trust you completely. 😀
