Good morning, Father!
Thank you so much for this awesome beautiful day, and for all this nice warm weather we’re having lately! Thank you for my “night off” last night, for all the fun and lightheartedness. Thank you for giving me a chance to explain to my daughter how letting go of past hurts and offenses and refusing to keep your mind on negative things can allow YOU to fill our cracks and holes with your goodness, creating a beautiful work of art out of what COULD be our ugliest places. I saw it like a ravine, or the side of a hill where storms have washed away dirt leaving great crevasses, expansive cracks. If we hold onto our hurts and put our minds on those negative things, we fill in those crevasses with stinky filth. But if we instead simply notice and appreciate what is GOOD all around us, we start a chain of positivity, building up gratitude in our hearts and allowing God to fill in those crevasses with His goodness and His glory! Thank you, Lord! I don’t feel like I can explain it as well as I see it, but I thank you for my personal understanding of it. I keep reading how gratitude is a key to happiness. I am starting to see how true this is! πŸ˜€

1 Thessalonians 5:18 ERV

Whatever happens, always be thankful. This is how God wants you to live in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 5:20 ERV

Always give thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Philippians 4:6 ERV

Don’t worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks for what you have.

Colossians 2:7 ERV

You must depend on Christ only, drawing life and strength from him. Just as you were taught the truth, continue to grow stronger in your understanding of it. And never stop giving thanks to God.

Psalm 69:30-31 ERV

I will praise God’s name in song. I will honor him by giving him thanks.
The LORD will be happier with this than with the offering of an ox or a full-grown bull as a sacrifice.

So many studies now have shown that being thankful or grateful makes us happier. But the last verse above tells us that it also makes GOD happier! How cool is that? With one simple tool (gratitude), we can make both ourselves AND our God happy!! Wow, that is some awesome power there! The Power of Gratitude! WOOT! πŸ˜€
