Good morning, Lord!
Thank you so much for the cheerful, hopeful atmosphere in the house last night and this morning! Even though my husband didn’t even get home from work until about 9pm, he is still light and well cared-for by both you AND me — thank you, Father!! 😀

Deuteronomy 30:9-15, 19 ERV

The LORD your God will make you successful in everything you do. He will bless you with many children. He will bless your cows–they will have many calves. He will bless your fields–they will grow many good crops. He will be good to you. The LORD will again enjoy doing good for you, the same as he enjoyed doing good for your ancestors.
But you must do what the LORD your God tells you to do. You must obey his commands and follow the rules that are written in this Book of Teachings. You must obey the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul. Then these good things will happen to you.
“This command that I give you today is not too hard for you. It is not a secret hidden in some far away land.
This command is not in heaven so that you should say, ‘Who will go up to heaven for us and bring it to us, so that we can hear and do it?’
This command is not on the other side of the sea so that you should say, ‘Who will go across the sea for us and bring it to us, so that we can hear it and do it?’
No, the word is very near to you. It is in your mouth and in your heart. So you can obey it.
“Today I have given you a choice between life and death, success and disaster.

“Today I am giving you a choice of two ways. And I ask heaven and earth to be witnesses of your choice. You can choose life or death. The first choice will bring a blessing. The other choice will bring a curse. So choose life! Then you and your children will live.

There is so much good in this chapter of the Old Testament, that it is hard to trim it down to a manageable copy-and-paste size! It’s almost like a Psalm, this awesome declaration of God’s loving care! To me, it shows clearly that even God’s commands are given to us as a blessing, and then He went and simplified the command to obey ALL His rules, down to just one: LOVE. Sometimes when I am confused, I repeat over and over to myself, “Just LOVE Him! Just LOVE Him!” because that is ALL we ever really need to do. I actually do this with my husband as well. The same rule applies. I don’t need to defend myself, protect myself, or figure things out. All I have to do is Just Love Him — both my husbands, temporal and eternal. If I stay with that one simple heart-rule, everything else just works itself out. God makes sure of it! In fact, He promises to do that for us!!! Thank you, Lord, for making our goal simple: Just LOVE. Love YOU, Love those around us. Even, I dare say, love ourselves (which may often be the most difficult task).
