Lord, I thank you for your awesome mercy, your tender care, and your miraculous sustenance. Thank you for this wonderful day of peaceful rest, like an oasis in the desert, actually 20 degrees cooler than it has been, giving my body time to recover and not have to stay wet just to endure. If the weather was this nice every day, I am sure I would eventually take it for granted. Right now it really seems like a miracle that refreshes and strengthens me, like my Shepherd’s loving touch. Thank you, loving Father.

Roman 3:19-22 ERV

What the law says is for those who are under the law. It stops anyone from making excuses. And it brings the whole world under God’s judgment, because no one can be made right with God by following the law. The law only shows us our sin. But God has a way to make people right, and it has nothing to do with the law. He has now shown us that new way, which the law and the prophets told us about. God makes people right through their faith in Jesus Christ. He does this for all who believe in Christ. Everyone is the same.

Lord I thank you for giving me faith to believe in you, and to allow me to be pleasing to you. I thank you for all the loving people I will get to meet in the coming months, both those who call themselves Christians and those like myself that choose not to embrace that label, for whatever reason. I am so grateful that you examine our hearts, not our attendance records or pocketbooks or college degrees. I am grateful that you cleanse us, give us our faith, and make us right. Thank you, Father, for looking upon us humans and seeing the blood of your righteous son, and how it is changing us, rather than seeing our hopeless pride, our humanity. Thank you, merciful Lord. I trust you completely.
