Hello, Father.
Thank you for helping me through so many sticky spots in life and inside mine own self. I just cannot see how life would be any good at all without knowing and being known by you. All my favorite things pale in comparison to your touch, your breath, your presence. Please help me to share what I know with others, and perhaps give someone, somewhere, a little encouragement in trusting you. It is sooooo worth giving up EVERYTHING for — and yet you ask us to give up so very little, instead blessing our hearts with our deepest desires. Thank you for your awesome love and care, Father!

John 14:1-7 ERV

Jesus said, “Don’t be troubled. Trust in God, and trust in me.
There are many rooms in my Father’s house. I would not tell you this if it were not true. I am going there to prepare a place for you.
After I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back. Then I will take you with me, so that you can be where I am.
You know the way to the place where I am going.”
Thomas said, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?”
Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. The only way to the Father is through me.
If you really knew me, you would know my Father too. But now you know the Father. You have seen him.”

I am very conscious of my “place” at times — not my socially obligated place, but rather a spiritual “place” — closer to a purpose or a special niche — a place where I personally “fit”. Sometimes my husband and I call this a “home” — as in: the place where we always put something = its HOME. It BELONGS there, like it was MADE for that place and that purpose. And THAT is what Jesus has gone to prepare for us. The way many Bible versions translate the Greek word mone (moh-NAY) (haha, not money but mon-ay!) into “mansions” (above = “rooms”) is rather deceptive. This has nothing to do with worldly riches — it has to do with having a HOME with Jesus, knowing the Almighty God and being so well known by Him that we EACH have our individual place, our specialized HOME with Him! I don’t know about you, but I personally consider that to be far, far better than just having some big fancy mansion…!! So, just who do you think planted that desperate need for BELONGING in every single human being that’s ever lived? Could it be our Creator, calling us HOME, giving us something to look forward to at the end of our earthly struggles?! Can you imagine being welcomed into your perfect place in His kingdom — a place where only YOU fit perfectly? 😯
