Thank you for the wonderful, peaceful, invigorating walk in the cool of the early morning today. Thank you for a hot shower and the ability to cook a hot, nourishing meal for my husband. Please heal him up, Father. Let your mercy and your peace rest upon him and restore him, Lord. Amen.
Luke 2:8-18 KJV
And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.
And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
Lord, I thank you for revealing yourself even to simple folk like myself and those shepherds. Thank you for making a way for ALL to come before the Father, and to dwell with peace and joy in this life, choosing to follow you instead of our own fleshly desires. Lord, I especially thank you for the particular peace and joy these last few days, as my husband and I have found a new and awesome unity before you. We still do not have a working vehicle yet, and we have another eviction notice from the landlord, probably giving us days to weeks to be OUT — homeless. Father, I say these things only in acknowledgement of the facts of the circumstances. The truth is, I have peace and an assurance that all is well, that you are in charge. You have performed such miracles in my life that I have no trouble believing that all our needs are met — they just are not manifest quite yet. Thank you, Lord, for growing my faith. Please bless those who read this with a deeper love and longing for you, Father. Thank you, my faithful Sheperd!
