Good morning, Father!
Thank you for helping my husband find the ladder levelers he needs to stay safe. Please continue to be with him in his work, growing him in wisdom and understanding and patience. Thank you for watching over all my children, and thank you specifically for prodding my oldest son’s heart, giving him the idea to shave his head to remind himself of the things he wants to work on — including more prayer! I ask you to please honor his efforts and his heart toward you. Reward him in ways that only you can, Lord. Please encourage him, and guide him forward in his life with you! Thank you, Faithful One! 😀

Esther 4:12-17 ERV

Then Esther’s message was given to Mordecai. When he got her message, Mordecai sent his answer back: “Esther, don’t think that just because you live in the king’s palace you will be the only Jew to escape.
If you keep quiet now, help and freedom for the Jews will come from another place. But you and your father’s family will all die. And who knows, maybe you have been chosen to be the queen for such a time as this.”
Then Esther sent this answer to Mordecai: “Mordecai, go and get all the Jews in Susa together, and fast for me. Don’t eat or drink for three days and nights. I and my women servants will fast too. After we fast, I will go to the king. I know it is against the law to go to the king if he didn’t call me, but I will do it anyway. If I die, I die.”
So Mordecai went away and did everything Esther told him to do.

I like the courage of Esther, evident in these verses. She is a noble example for me. I am not a queen and I have very little effect on anyone, but I pray that I may be found faithful like Esther. She was willing to sacrifice her position and even her own life to help her people. I do not even know who “my people” are, beyond my own small family (husband and children), but I know that I am touched by many people, wanting to help them, even something small like buying Girl Scout cookies or smiling warmly to Walmart cashiers and greeters.

Lord, my world is small and my influence slight. I pray that I be found faithful in these small things, and if you will it, for you to expand my “territory” and let me reach others for you. Keep me humble and teachable and willing to serve. Show me what you would have me to do, and give me the courage and determination to do so. Thank you, Lord!
