Good morning, Father!
Thank you for the nice talks and fellowship yesterday, and thank you for helping me create four new webpages for my husband on my namesake website yesterday, so he forever has an online portfolio to show his work (and whatever else he wants me to add in the future, lol). Thank you for helping me find unused space on a flash drive to backup my photos from the past years, and please help me to start building my digital assets libraries! 🙂
Mark 4:26-29 ERV
Then Jesus said, “God’s kingdom is like a man who plants seed in the ground.
The seed begins to grow. It grows night and day. It doesn’t matter whether the man is sleeping or awake, the seed still grows. He doesn’t know how it happens.
Without any help the ground produces grain. First the plant grows, then the head, and then all the grain in the head.
When the grain is ready, the man cuts it. This is the harvest time.”
Mark 6:7-13 ERV
Jesus called his twelve apostles together. He sent them out in groups of two and gave them power over evil spirits.
This is what he told them: “Take nothing for your trip except a stick for walking. Take no bread, no bag, and no money.
You can wear sandals, but don’t take extra clothes.
When you enter a house, stay there until you leave that town.
If any town refuses to accept you or refuses to listen to you, then leave that town and shake the dust off your feet as a warning to them.”
The apostles left and went to other places. They talked to the people and told them to change their hearts and lives.
They forced many demons out of people and put olive oil on many who were sick and healed them.
Lord, I thank you that it is you that is at work in our lives, making things happen, making the seed grow and develop according to your plan. I thank you that we ourselves do not have to make a bunch of decisions on our own, but that we can look to you for direction, and pray with others and allow your Holy Spirit to guide us and fill us with boldness and willingness and strength of heart! Father, you see everything that is in our hearts. You see our strengths you have built up, and you see our weaknesses that could all too easily get in the way of our following your will. I ask you to protect our hearts and our minds and our spirits and our bodies. Guide us, help us to know your will and have an assurance when we are on your path. Give us peace that passes all understanding — that doesn’t even make sense to have it given the uncertain and “unstable” circumstances — and please warn us faithfully whenever we step off your path. Help us to discern your will, Father. We are willing, and we are trusting you. Lead on! 😀
