Good morning, Father!
Thank you so much for all your awesome care, for helping me get a good night of sleep in less time than expected, and even having a couple hours or so with my husband already today! Thank you for your mercy, Lord, in guiding your people and helping us each be humble to whatever extent be possible, so that we can learn of you and your ways. Be near to those who reach out to you, Lord. Comfort each of us in the way that only you can. Strengthen us with your truth, and help us to grow in love and wisdom. Amen.

Luke 1:76-80 ERV

“Now you, little boy, will be called a prophet of the Most High God. You will go first before the Lord to prepare the way for him.
You will make his people understand that they will be saved by having their sins forgiven.
“With the loving mercy of our God, a new day from heaven will shine on us.
It will bring light to those who live in darkness, in the fear of death. It will guide us into the way that brings peace.”
And so the little boy John grew up and became stronger in spirit. Then he lived in areas away from other people until the time when he came out to tell God’s message to the people of Israel.

Lord, I thank you that you have always used imperfect people to do your perfect will. I thank you for calling children, and the child-like to give themselves and their lives to you. I thank you that you can take the most hardened, crack-addicted man off the streets, clean him up with the blood of your Son, and make him more humble and ready to serve than his rich neighbor who has never gotten convicted of a single offense. I thank you that all we need do to be used of you is to be humble, to admit our need for you. Please give a measure of peace and hope to any heart that reaches out to you, Lord, as I know you will. Encourage humility by rewarding the humble with a knowledge of you. Amen. 🙂
