Good morning, Lord.
Thank you for a very quick but good night of sleep, and thank you for getting me up a bit earlier today so I can get busy, busy, busy building, building, building! 🙂 Thank you for giving me so much work to do, so I can not have idle time to sit and mull over all the things that COULD happen in the coming months. Instead, I have a FUN idea of what could happen, and I just stay excited about that. Thank you for making me an incurable optimist, Father! Please show me how to best share with others all the gifts you have given me. Teach me how to “infect” other people with my joy and peace and enthusiasm, and HOPE! Thank you for your awesome care and guidance, faithful Shepherd. 😀
Galatians 4:6-9 ERV
Since you are now God’s children, he has sent the Spirit of his Son into your hearts. The Spirit cries out, “Abba, Father.”
Now you are not slaves like before. You are God’s children, and you will receive everything he promised his children.
In the past you did not know God. You were slaves to gods that were not real.
But now you know the true God. Really, though, it is God who knows you. So why do you turn back to the same kind of weak and useless rules you followed before? Do you want to be slaves to those things again?
Lord, my greatest delight is that I am known of you, that your Spirit bubbles up within me with such joy, bringing me peace even when there is none to be found in the external world. I delight in seeing you in your Creation, in the crinkle of an old man’s happy eyes, in the tough, weathered rocks jutting out from the landscape, in the shiny wet moss of a forest floor — and so many more things that I could never even see them all! I thank you for these treasures, and the ability to appreciate them. Thank you for making me yours, so that there is so much in this world to LOVE!
