Good morning, Father!
Thank you so much for bringing me safely through that emotional and mental storm yesterday! Thank you for shaking me up enough that I finally just sat still for an hour or more, just being aware and asking questions, seeking clarity. And thank you for giving me such a clear-cut breakthrough, and guiding me right into the first action steps of CHANGE and new growth! I am in awe of you and your gentle ways, Shepherd! How swiftly and efficiently you can lead me from a dangerous cliff to a clearly marked path through a friendly forest! I know there may be pitfalls and dangers and potential distractions along the road ahead, but I pray that you continue to faithfully guide me, Shepherd, and let me know when I’ve stepped off your path. I trust you, Lord. You are sooooo very faithful and kind! πŸ˜€

2 Samuel 22:29-37 ERV

LORD, you are my lamp. You, LORD, turn the darkness around me into light.
With your help I can defeat an army. If my God is with me, I can climb over enemy walls.
God’s way is perfect. The LORD’S promise always proves to be true. He protects those who trust in him.
There is no God except the LORD. There is no Rock except our God.
God is my strong fortress. He clears the path I need to take.
He makes my feet as steady as those of a deer. Even on steep mountains he keeps me from falling.
He trains me for war so that my arms can bend the most powerful bow.
Lord, you have given me your shield to protect me. It is your help that has made me great.
You cleared a path for my feet so that I could walk without stumbling.

Lord, I thank you that you have empowered me to go over three months now without drinking any alcohol and wasting time and energy on “comforting myself” in that way. I thank you for empowering me to be completely free of cigarette smoking for over 9 years now, after 24 years of daily smoking!! I thank you for helping me control my tongue more and more, being more aware of the need to just be quiet and give YOU room to speak to people, to show them things that may be obvious to me — and may even be obvious to them, in fact, without my seeing any outward indication of them seeing it. Thank you for continuing to teach me to just accept things however they are, and not get so exhausted fretting over things I cannot change. Thank you for teaching me, more and more, how to reserve my energy for the things I CAN change — my OWN attitude and behavior! πŸ˜›
