Dec 12

Hello, Lord.
Thank you so much for giving me a respite from coughing, and allowing me a good night of sleep! Thank you for giving my husband patience and not letting him tease me toooo badly while I am without speech, letting my throat rest and heal. Father, I fear to eat, but I am feeling weak. Please let the hot soup soothe my throat and not start up the coughing again. Please show me what to do to get better, and what to avoid. Thank you, gentle Shepherd.

Ephesians 4:2-8 ERV

Always be humble and gentle. Be patient and accept each other with love.
You are joined together with peace through the Spirit. Do all you can to continue as you are, letting peace hold you together.
There is one body and one Spirit, and God chose you to have one hope.
There is one Lord, one faith, and one baptism.
There is one God and Father of us all, who rules over everyone. He works through all of us and in all of us.
Christ gave each one of us a special gift. Everyone received what he wanted to give them.
That is why the Scriptures say, “He went up high into the sky; he took prisoners with him, and he gave gifts to people.”

Lord, I thank you for the gifts you have given to your people. I thank you for helping me to grow in compassion and in my feelings of safety within YOU, so that I can have the courage to expose myself more and not protect myself as much. Thank you for the beautiful insights into your Church, your Bride, and how there truly are people out there who love you above all else — not just for what they can get from you and from their church, but out of a pure heart, loving you. Please continue to humble me, Lord, and to prune away the things in my heart, my mind, my being, that are hindrances to your will in me. Cleanse me, make me more fruitful for YOU. Thank you for giving me the gift of acceptance. Teach me how to use it for you, Lord. Amen.
