Good morning, Lord.
Thank you so much for all you are teaching me about people and how to interact with them, even though at this point I am so horribly confused…! On the one hand, I am used to being criticized and nitpicked and challenged by anyone who calls themselves a “Christian” — yet meeting with my God-fearing in-laws yesterday was peaceful and they didn’t even show one hint of criticism or ask me one probing question about my faith or my income…! What an awesome, peaceful and enjoyable time we had…!! Thank you, Lord!! THEN, the events of the last two hours seem to indicate that perhaps I need to be even MORE on guard around OTHER people — not my in-laws, not family, not any group I can even pinpoint, just OTHER people. I’m lost, Lord. And all I know is that YOU are faithful, and YOU are the source of my comfort, my protection, my hope, my strength. Thank you, Shepherd.

Psalm 18:30-33 ERV

God’s way is perfect. The LORD’S promise always proves to be true. He protects those who trust in him.
There is no God except the LORD. There is no Rock except our God.
God is the one who gives me strength. He clears the path I need to take.
He makes my feet as steady as those of a deer. Even on steep mountains he keeps me from falling.

Lord, I thank you for Hinds Feet, for Hannah Hurnard, and for all the gifts you give to your Church through your People — individuals who have different strengths to share and to edify us all. Thank you for taking me one step closer toward having hope and a tiny bit more trust in your Church, seeing that some people really do have a good heart and aren’t merely interested in picking at my faith and challenging my life choices and behavior. Thank you for showing me that people ARE capable of some measure of loving acceptance — and that however much it is, it is ENOUGH. Because you supply the rest, Lord. You supply all my needs.

Philippians 4:18-20 ERV

I have everything I need. I have even more than I need. I have all I need because Epaphroditus brought your gift to me. Your gift is like a sweet-smelling sacrifice offered to God. God accepts that sacrifice and it pleases him.
My God will use his glorious riches to give you everything you need. He will do this through Christ Jesus.
Glory to our God and Father forever and ever. Amen.
