Good morning, Lord. Thank you for taking care of me last night, when I was so very uncomfortable. Thank you for holding me, comforting me, letting me feel your presence. Please be with me today, help me remember to act in love rather than aggitation or impatience. Help me to be a real help to my husband in this new thing he wants me to do, and let peace rule our interactions. Please remind me that YOU are in control and it is YOU who judges me and who determines what is good and right and true. I do NOT need my husband’s positive feedback. He can attack me and call me names and make me feel stupid and incompetent — but that is only an indication of HIS mood and attitude — not of my true nature and worth. Please remind me that he really DOES respect me — at least on the foundational level — and he does love me, too. He’s just really tense right now, and needs me to be patient and kind and not make it worse. Thank you, Lord, for seeing, for understanding, and for letting me use YOUR strength to serve others! 😀

1 Peter 4:10-11

“God has shown you his grace in many different ways. So be good servants and use whatever gift he has given you in a way that will best serve each other. If your gift is speaking, your words should be like words from God. If your gift is serving, you should serve with the strength that God gives. Then it is God who will be praised in everything through Jesus Christ. Power and glory belong to him forever and ever. Amen.”
