Good morning, Father!
Thank you for the awesome insights into the power of appreciation! It seems like a verification of what I learned recently about how to be prepared for anything — that all you need is to pray and be thankful! And it reminds me of so many verses I’ve read that reiterate some version of “all things with prayer and thanksgiving” or at least, “always give thanks”. Thank you for helping this sink deeper and become more meaningful AND more noticeable in my own life, Father!

Philippians 4:4-7 ERV

Always be filled with joy in the Lord. I will say it again. Be filled with joy.
Let everyone see that you are gentle and kind. The Lord is coming soon.
Don’t worry about anything, but pray and ask God for everything you need, always giving thanks for what you have.
And because you belong to Christ Jesus, God’s peace will stand guard over all your thoughts and feelings. His peace can do this far better than our human minds.

Ephesians 5:18-20 ERV

Don’t be drunk with wine, which will ruin your life, but be filled with the Spirit.
Encourage each other with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord.
Always give thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Colossians 3:15-17 ERV

Let the peace that Christ gives control your thinking. It is for peace that you were chosen to be together in one body. And always be thankful.
Let the teaching of Christ live inside you richly. Use all wisdom to teach and counsel each other. Sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Everything you say and everything you do should be done for Jesus your Lord. And in all you do, give thanks to God the Father through Jesus.

Lord, it seems too easy to JUST pray and be thankful! Sometimes I feel like I am made of praise more than of dust! Even as a small child, I would recover from abuse by singing songs to you, and thanking you for the shiny little black beetle I found, or the lovely breeze against my cheek, or the warmth of the soil beneath me. I don’t remember a time when I wasn’t thanking you! Still, I know there are times ahead that will test my faith and strengthen it, if I allow you to mold me and remove yet more things from my life that get in the way of your fruit. I ask you to make me more faithful, Lord. Strengthen my ability to praise you no matter what happens, making me better equipped to face any day and any situation. Thank you, kind Shepherd! Amen! 😀
