Another weird day, Lord. Thank you, though, for the deep sleep and for shaking up my daily routine this week, so that I don’t get too comfortable and complacent. Thank you for keeping me more alert and aware, and thank you for guiding me into greater acceptance of the situations I find myself in, trusting you more and more all the time, Lord. Please continue your work in me, pruning away things that get in the way of the growth that you are working in me, and teaching me how to relax and play in the puddles, so to speak. Teach me more, Lord, and help me to STAY humble and teachable!
Proverbs 16:16-23 ERV
Wisdom is worth much more than gold. Understanding is worth much more than silver.
Good people try to avoid evil. They watch what they do and protect themselves.
Pride is the first step toward destruction. Proud thoughts will lead you to defeat.
It is better to be a humble person living among the poor than to share the wealth among the proud.
Good things happen to those who learn from their experiences, and the LORD blesses those who trust him.
People will know if someone is wise. Those who choose their words carefully can be very convincing.
Good sense is a spring of fresh water to those who have it, but fools can offer only foolishness.
Wise people always think before they speak, so what they say is worth listening to.
Lord, once again I ask you to help me to speak less and speak much more mindfully, carefully, when I do speak. I definitely see much improvement in this area lately, but I know I need a LOT more practice!! Thank you, Shepherd, for the opportunities that you WILL provide for me to give my tongue to you. Help me to grow in all the ways you have for me, Lord, and help me to be humble and courageous and wise. Amen!
