Good morning, Father.
Thank you for the humbling experience lately, and thank you for your enduring patience and lovingkindness. Father, I ask you to help me to speak less and more mindfully, and to watch my thoughts and prune those as well. I believe this is what you are giving me to do, to grow further. I thank you that you are Faithful and I can count on you to help me remember to choose my words and my thoughts much more carefully. Please let this pruning bring me closer to you, my Lord. Amen!

2 Corinthians 10:3-5 ERV

We live in this world, but we don’t fight our battles in the same way the world does.
The weapons we use are not human ones. Our weapons have power from God and can destroy the enemy’s strong places. We destroy people’s arguments,
and we tear down every proud idea that raises itself against the knowledge of God. We also capture every thought and make it give up and obey Christ.

I like what the Greek actually says in that last verse. Fran’s version: “Rejecting any reasoning that goes against the knowing of God and making every purpose and perception be attentive and yield to Jesus”. In other words, pruning my thoughts like I was praying for, above. 😀 And although no one has tamed the tongue, according to James, I want to at least be more mindful of how I use mine, and begin to carefully choose wise words, kind words, helpful words — as opposed to just spewing my thoughts casually, carelessly, foolishly. In other words, to speak like I WRITE, lol! Thank you for helping me see how foolish my tongue is, Lord! Please help me grow in wisdom and in obedience to you. Please bring this goal to my remembrance as I go about my day.
