Good morning, Father.
Thank you for giving my husband time to vent while still making it short enough that my ears did not get overwhelmed. Please be with him today, and move him forward in your plan for his life. Bring him very close to you and reveal to him whatever he needs to see, hiding from him whatever needs to be hidden at this time, so that HE does not get overwhelmed! Please let your mercy and grace and love reign in this house, Lord. Help us all to trust you and to remember that you are Faithful and are caring for us. Thank you, awesome Shepherd! 😀

Psalm 46 ERV

To the director: A song from the Korah family. Use the alamoth. A song. God is our protection and source of strength. He is always ready to help us in times of trouble.
So we are not afraid when the earth quakes and the mountains fall into the sea.
We are not afraid when the seas become rough and dark and the mountains tremble. Selah
There is a river whose streams bring happiness to God’s city, to the holy city of God Most High.
God is in that city, so it will never be destroyed. He is there to help even before sunrise.
Nations will shake with fear and kingdoms will fall when God shouts and makes the earth move.
The LORD All-Powerful is with us. The God of Jacob is our place of safety. Selah
Look at the powerful things the LORD has done. See the awesome things he has done on earth.
He stops wars all over the world. He breaks the soldiers’ bows, shatters their spears, and burns their shields.
God says, “Stop fighting and know that I am God! I am the one who defeats the nations; I am the one who controls the world.”
The LORD All-Powerful is with us. The God of Jacob is our place of safety. Selah

Haha, I just posted this psalm less than a month ago, but I am seeing it from a different viewpoint today, and I just cannot talk myself out of posting it once again, lol. I have this picture in my mind’s eye of an earthquake so strong that the mountains crumble and fall into the sea. I compare that picture to the trial and loss I am suffering now in my own life and I realize, in that earth-shattering storm, I would stand to lose a LOT more! And yet, the psalmist reminds us that even in such extreme situations, there is still NO reason to fear. God is STILL in control. He is STILL with us, protecting us, and being our Strength. I believe it!! My whole life I have had circumstances where I have suffered horribly, and yet been able to smile and learn and have sincere JOY within minutes, or hours, or days — probably depending upon the extent of the damage and its distraction factor. Still, I have never been left alone to suffer alone other than during moments when I was resisting God myself. He does not resist us. He embraces us. Welcomes us. Protects us. Cares for us. God is Faithful. He CHOOSES to be so — isn’t that awesome?! 😀
