Good morning, Father.
Thank you for helping me get out of bed nice and early this morning, even though I am still quite groggy and feeling rather weak — probably because it’s the end of the month and my hormones are out of balance again. Thank you for helping me understand how to control that a bit better this month! Father, please help me have the stamina to walk up that hill and mail the package for my son at the post office. Help me to not overheat or hurt myself due to my grogginess. Help me to put on an audiobook and be charged up, energized! Thank you for all the FLOW I’ve had these last several days in my work — I look forward to returning home and getting back to work! 😀

1 Timothy 2:1-6 ERV

First of all, I ask that you pray for all people. Ask God to bless them and give them what they need. And give thanks.
You should pray for rulers and for all who have authority. Pray for these leaders so that we can live quiet and peaceful lives–lives full of devotion to God and respect for him.
This is good and pleases God our Savior.
God wants everyone to be saved and to fully understand the truth.
There is only one God, and there is only one way that people can reach God. That way is through Christ Jesus, who as a man
gave himself to pay for everyone to be free. This is the message that was given to us at just the right time.

Father, I must admit, I’ve never really prayed for any politicians or others in positions of “authority”. It really SEEMS like a waste of time, like they are going to do what they want no matter what. Still, I see that this IS something that pleases you, and I don’t believe you would want us to pick and choose which things to obey and which to ignore. Therefore, Father, I ask you to enlighten my heart and reveal to my mind (or at least to my spirit) HOW to pray for people I do not even know — particularly the “elite” who are in “control” of this country. Help me to let go of any resentments and other forms of pride, and just be humble and pray for them. Cleanse my heart, Oh Lord, and renew a right spirit within me. Amen!
